Matthew McConaughey is overwhelmed when he sees Madame Tussaud’s wax figure
Alright, alright, alright.
Matthew McConaughey was stunned by his “gorgeous” new Madame Tussauds wax figure on Tuesday as he saw it for the first time with the ladies of “The View.”
The daytime talk show’s set briefly transformed into the famous wax museum as the 53-year-old “Dallas Buyers Club” star — and co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin — anticipated Unveiling of the statue.
“Can we get a drum roll,” Haines asked as the curtain opened to reveal something McConaughey’s eerily accurate characterwhich is now on display at Madame Tussauds in New York City.
“Wow,” McConaughey said as he approached the figure, “I feel like the AI is alive and well.”
“I don’t remember when, but I wore that suit,” McConaughey said of the stunning green look he wore on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in December 2021.
“And I remember those shoes,” he said of the black and white loafers.
One of the co-hosts also marveled at the character’s wedding ring, which is very similar to McConaughey’s real one. Both have “6.22” engraved on them.
The numbers supposedly refer to him Favorite passage in the BibleMatthew 6:22, read at his wedding to his wife Camila Alves in 2012.
Goldberg then jokingly asked “if the character is as good at rubbing feet” as McConaughey was at rubbing Behar’s feet on the show in 2006.
“He does that – he does the foot massage from here,” McConaughey shot back, wiggling his hands in front of the figure as he stood behind it.
“That’s wild… it feels like it’s alive,” “Bravo!” he said, looking the figure up and down. “Bravo! From five feet away I’m blown away, OK. Wow, I’m looking in the mirror! I thought it would get less realistic as it got closer, but it doesn’t. It gets more realistic!
Oscar winner McConaughey stopped by “The View” to promote his new book “Just Because” – but also gave Behar another foot massage.
The fiery red-headed presenter admitted that her first massage 17 years ago was a precious “highlight” of her life.
