Matt Hancock has opened up about the moment Ronnie Wood gave him a ‘pick-me-up’.
The politician recalled meeting the Rolling Stones guitarist at the Brit Awards in his new book Pandemic Diaries.
In the recently released memoir, Hancock recalls being late for the Brits at the O2, where he was sitting next to Wood.
Hancock had expressed being “hungry” before Wood “snarled something about the fact that I obviously need a pick-me-up.”
“He reached into his pocket, pulled out a tinfoil-covered package, and began unwrapping it,” Hancock wrote.
That i am a celebrity star described “real freaking out” as he wondered what the package could be.
“Even by Rolling Stone, Ronnie had a reputation as a hell-raiser, and I thought ‘oh shit’ as I wondered what substance he was going to produce with the cameras all around us,” he wrote.
Hancock’s fears were quickly allayed after Wood unraveled the package to reveal a Babybel cheese snack.
“Turns out he has young twins and always has some of the little cheeses with him in case they get hungry,” he said.
“That was exactly what I needed,” Hancock added.
The disgraced politician recently left the Australian jungle where he took part in ITV’s hit reality show I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!. Despite the controversy surrounding his entry, he finished third.
Last week it was claimed that competitor Mike Tindall has yet to invite Matt Hancock to a WhatsApp group of this year’s contestants, including winner Jill Scott.
