Maryland governor candidate Wes Moore tests positive for COVID-19

Wes Moore, a Democratic candidate for Maryland governor, announced Monday that he has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Moore, 43, who is seeking the Democratic Party nomination, announced on Twitter that he was infected but asymptomatic.

“I am isolating and working from home and look forward to getting back on the campaign trail as soon as possible,” Moore wrote.

From 2017 to 2021, Moore served as chief executive officer of the Robin Hood Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting poverty. He is the author of the 2010 non-fiction book The Other Wes Moore, a story of two men with the same names whose lives took different paths.
