MARVEL franchise actor Vachik Mangassarian has died of Covid complications at the age of 78.
The Hollywood veteran is best known for appearing in the comic book spinoff Agents Of SHIELD and the hit sitcom Curb Your Ebye.
He is also known for his roles in the television series NCIS and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
His agent said he died on Saturday from Covid complications in Burbank, California.
Born in Iran to Armenian descent in 1943, Mangassarian came to America at the age of 23 and worked as a waiter while pursuing his path to becoming a stage actor.
He occasionally acted in films in Iran before landing his first Hollywood film role in The South’s Shark in 1978.
During the 1980s, he made guest appearances on the beloved TV shows The Fall Guy, The A-Team, Sledge Hammer! and Murder, She Wrote.
He then worked for NYPD Blue and JAG on a long list of credits.
In 2008, Mangassarian had a role in the critically acclaimed film The Stoning of Soraya M, playing the father of a falsely accused young woman sentenced to death.
Most recently, he completed filming a supporting role in Paul Weitz’s new film Moving On, starring Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda.
Mangassarian has also maintained his own radio and television program for ten years, the Armenian National Network, which discusses politics, film and art with guests.
He is survived by his two sisters.
