Mark Warburton ‘very shocked’ by West Ham transfer rumor over player ‘David Moyes admires’

Mark Warburton says he is “very shocked” to hear West Ham United won’t sign Harry Maguire this summer amid claims he will stay at Erik ten Hags Manchester United.
The former West Ham United manager, who left this summer, added that “David Moyes admires the England international” and that it was “no secret” that he would bring “Premier League experience” to the club’s ranks this summer want to contribute.
Someone like Harry Maguire fits that criteria at the age of 30, and Warburton believes he would have been, as he said, an “asset” to the team Football special on Sky Sports News (8/15/23 at 7:05 p.m.).
While Maguire has placed a lot of emphasis on his performances over the years, which has led to him being ridiculed on social media, one could well imagine that he fits into the Moyes system.
The trainer who won the Europa Conference League isn’t someone who plays an aggressive highline but stays compact and deep in his form.
That would have suited Maguire’s game because he would have been better protected, but as Warburton has been told, that deal won’t go through now.

“Absolutely (Magure would have been an asset to West Ham),” said Warburton. “I think David Moyes is a well-known admirer of Harry Maguire.
“He made no bones about wanting to add Premier League experience and maturity to the backbone of the team so Ward-Prowse came in etc. Another good buy at Alvarez too.”
“So I’m sure Maguire would have been a great addition to the team. I’m a little surprised (that a deal may not come about now). One might have thought that the process was further advanced. Somewhere the money has to change hands for everyone to be happy.
“But right now I’m very shocked that it didn’t happen.”

Big call from Maguire
Yes, there are still a few weeks before the summer 2023 transfer window hits and Maguire can still make the move, but if he wanted to leave now then he would certainly have forced a move.
It must be remembered that he is fourth-choice at Man United and is playing a risky game if he doesn’t push for that transfer this summer.
Not only will it upset his own fans who are already giving him a hard time, but he could also find his minutes reduced and therefore left on the bench, leading to him losing his England spot.
