Mariah Carey performs at Macy’s Parade – and the internet reaction is hilarious

Self-proclaimed “Queen of Christmas” Mariah Carey performed at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, and the internet is celebrating a big day with her show.

Wearing a huge pink dress with an umbrella, Mariah sang her iconic tune “All I Want for Christmas” while being flanked by dancers.

As usual, Mariah stood still during her performance and didn’t dance along.

Sportswriter Ian Hest wrote: “Mariah Carey is being paid millions just to stand there with her umbrella and to be honest I’m not mad. Crazy respect.”

“I love the lack of energy that Mariah Carey brings to her performances. We can all rely on that.” Twitter user Nick Russo said.

“Mariah gets paid to just stand there at the Thanksgiving parade and not even pretend to actually sing to the backing track, ‘Imfao Queen Behaviour.'” Another person tweeted.

Other users joked that the pop star “came out of hibernation” at the top of the charts “thawed” just in time for Christmas.

Many made fun of Mariah for lip-synching her performance, but her fans pointed out a tweet from John Legend as of 2018 in refutation.

“Fun fact. We all have to lip sync at this parade because the floats don’t have the capacity to handle the sound requirements for a live performance. Hope you liked it anyway. Know that the vocals are 100% live when you come to my shows!” he said at the time after taking heat on the same thing.

“It’s impossible not to have a single artist perform live at this parade, but people are mad at Mariah for it. Everything ok???” another Twitter user said in her defense. Mariah Carey performs at Macy’s Parade – and the internet reaction is hilarious
