Maren Morris is entering her “little era” and appears to be eclipsing Jason Aldean
The Town is not big enough for both.
Maren Morris appears to have overshadowed fellow country star Jason Aldean in her new music video.
The 33-year-old posted on Instagram On Thursday, a clip for a new song appeared that appeared to target the 46-year-old “She’s Country” singer.
“I’m done filling a cup with a hole in the bottom,” Morris captioned the video.
In the post, the “My Church” singer can be seen lying on the ground and looking at a sign that reads, “Welcome to our perfect LITTLE TOWN from dusk to dusk.”
The reference is to Aldean’s controversial song “Try That In A Small Town.”
Aldean’s single was accused of being racist and having violent connotations.
Fans took to the Nashville native’s comments section and laughed at her subtle and ingenious reference.
“MAREN IN HER LITTLE ERA, I’M HERE FOR IT 🔥,” one person exclaimed.
Another person wrote: “This little town is full of shadows. I love this for us 😂😂😂.”
One shouted: “EVERYONE STAY CALM, MAREN IS COMING OUT SWINGING!!!!”
“Maren Morris is a boss and hero who is not afraid to be a bigger person and stand up to senseless bullies! 💛,” one fan chimed in.
The music video for “Try That In A Small Town” was pulled by CMT in July and Aldean defended himself despite the backlash to his song.
The Music video showed footage of protests, including the Black Lives Matter demonstrations, and branded him “racist” And “violent fanatic.”
“In the last 24 hours I have been accused of releasing a lynching song (a song that has been released since May) and faced the comparison that I was (direct quote) not too happy with the nationwide BLM protests ,” he wrote at the time in a statement he posted to his Instagram story.
“These tips are not only unfounded, but also dangerous,” said the father of four.
Morris and Aldean had one too rocky relationship in recent years, as she has also feuded with his wife Brittany over their two Viewpoint on trans rights.
In August 2022, Morris criticized Brittany for sharing transphobic rhetoric on a Instagram Reel.
“I really want to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I was going through my tomboy phase,” the former cheerleader captioned a makeup video at the time. “I love this girl’s life.”
Morris then called her a “dirty person” and “riot Barbie.” X (formerly known as Twitter) last summer.
