‘Many’ injured in attack while protesting killing of Amir Locke

Multiple people are believed to have been injured in a shooting in Portland, Oregon amid protests over the death of Amir Locke.

Police sources told local media that one person was killed and three others injured in the shooting. Two people are believed to be in custody.

The incident allegedly happened near Normandale Park in the Hollywood section of Portland.

“I spoke to a neighbor who said she heard 9 shots in the direction of Normandale Park,” tweeted FOX12 Oregon’s Connor McCarthy.

According to McCarthy, many people were taken to the hospital.

Portland police have posted to their Twitter account that they have responded to a number of shootings over the past few days.

The shooting happened shortly before a protest began in the park to protest the police shooting of Amir Locke.

Locke was sleeping when he was shot dead by a SWAT team that issued a “no-door” order at a Minneapolis apartment.

The Portland investigation is ongoing.
