Man Utd vs Brighton POSTPONED and Carrington training ground closed again after the Covid-19 outbreak

MANCHESTER UNITED’s match against Brighton has been postponed because of the Covid outbreak in the Red Devils.

The teams were scheduled to meet at Old Trafford for a game that starts at lunchtime, but the match will now be rescheduled.

The Red Devils’ Carrington training ground will also be closed for a ‘short time’ to avoid transmission of the disease.

A United statement read: “Manchester United can confirm that our Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion, scheduled for Saturday 18 December at 12:30 GMT, has been postponed. and will be rescheduled in due course.

“The health of our players and staff is our priority.

“Given the number of players and support staff quarantined due to COVID-19, the club had no choice but to request that the match be rescheduled.

“The Premier League leadership has made the decision to postpone based on the guidance of medical advisors.

“We will also suspend football training activities at Carrington Training Complex for a short time to help reduce the risk of further transmission of the disease.

“We regret any disappointment and inconvenience caused to fans by the postponement.”
