Man Utd block Dean Henderson’s last gasp of move to Watford and goalkeeper’s future now ‘revolving around next regular manager’

MANCHESTER UNITED blocked Watford’s last attempt to sign Dean Henderson on loan.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper has fallen behind David De Gea in order at Old Trafford and is set to leave the club.
He has been linked with a number of clubs over the past month, with Ajax and Newcastle United also interested.
United were reluctant to let him go and stood firm as the Hornets tried to get the England international.
New Watford boss Roy Hodgson asked at Old Trafford about the availability of stoppers but received an answer of no.
Henderson has only started twice for United this season and is said to be very disappointed when the club refused to let him go on loan, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Teammate Jesse Lingard was also blocked from joining Newcastle on the deadline date.
United sanctioned the departures of Anthony Martial, Amad Diallo and Donny van de Beek in January.

The academy graduate Henderson started 25 times last term for the Reds and held the No. 1 spot until March.
He signed with Covid back in July and then again in September, allowing De Gea to return first and make his own place with some good performances.
It is now claimed that Henderson’s future depends on who gets the job as the next long-term manager at United.
He still has a contract with the club until 2025 and has the option of an extra year.
