Man suffocated in wheelchair, robbed in broad daylight NYC attack: cops

A man in a wheelchair was suffocated and robbed of his cellphone in an attack in broad daylight in Midtown this week, authorities said Friday.

The 40-year-old victim was on Fifth Avenue near West 58th Street around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday — about a block from Trump Tower — when another man approached him, put him in a chokehold and hit him snatched his phone, police said.

Good Samaritans tried to intervene to stop the heartless crook – but the suspect threatened them with a knife before running away, cops said.

The victim refused medical help.

No other injuries were reported, police said.

Authorities released photos of the suspect, who can be seen in all black with a silver or gray vest over his sweatshirt.
