PROVIDENCE, RI (WPRI) – A man from Rhode Island who is suspected to be Attempts to steal a delivery van parked outside a Providence business face a judge on Tuesday.
Police say Jeremy Fellela of Cranston jumped out of the truck, apparently delivering bottles and crates of beer to a liquor store. He then drove off, which led to a low-speed chase Monday afternoon, police said.
A WPRI photojournalist captured video of the incident, in which the truck’s lift door was opened and sloped down, spilling bottles and trash cans onto the street.
Footage of the chase was also captured by a resident’s doorbell camera, showing the truck slowly leading police down the street.
The suspect eventually crashed into a power pole after about two miles.
Fellela, 44, was charged with possessing a stolen motor vehicle, evading police, reckless driving and refusing to submit a chemical test. He was placed in custody without bail after placement, as Fellela had not appeared in five of his previous 11 criminal cases.
