Man slashed in robbery on New York subway platform, police say

A man was taken to hospital after being slashed on a Queens subway platform on Sunday morning, police officers said.

The 41-year-old man was standing on a platform for the southbound F train at Kew Gardens/Union Turnpike station around 6am when the attacker slashed him with a sharp object, police officers said.

The attacker demanded the victim’s belongings, police said.

The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital. The attacker fled south on the subway.

Police said it was not clear if anything was taken from the man.
