Man shot dead in fight in parking lot of Northeast Houston’s Best Budget Inn, police say

At 2:30 p.m., officers came to the 6900 block of the Eastex Freeway with reports of a shooting.

Residents at the local hotel told police they heard an argument and then gunshots. When they went outside, residents found a man in the parking lot with at least two gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

According to witnesses, a man was seen running away from the scene. The suspect’s description is unknown.

According to the police, they are still working on obtaining surveillance videos and speaking to witnesses.

The victim’s age and identity were not immediately released.
