Man shot by congressman after running at them with a knife in Rancho Cucamonga – San Bernardino Sun

A man was shot early Tuesday after he ran towards the San Bernardino County sheriff with a knife, officials said.

Delegates responded to section 9800 of Jersey Blvd in Rancho Cucamonga around 3:30 a.m. after a 911 call for help was made.

When they arrived at the residence, they discovered a man had fenced in front of the house. Deputies spent about an hour negotiating with the man, a sheriff’s department spokesman said in an emailed statement.

The man then ran towards the deputies with a knife and a shooting that involved an officer occurred. No delegates were injured and the man was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No details are available immediately. The investigation is ongoing.
