Man of Honor Ham Giveaway scheduled for Saturday | WSAU News / Talk 550 AM · 99.9 FM

WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – The Wausau Man of Honor Society will conduct its 13th annual ham donation to Veterans and active-duty service members this Saturday at Marathon Park.

John Fust with the Man of Honor Society says that there is no income requirement to obtain ham, and the only question asked will be ‘are you or are you currently serving in the military?’ “We just thank our local Vets for what they have done and what they have sacrificed. Especially during the holidays,” says Fust.

Ham will be delivered by drive in Marathon Park starting at 9am. Veterinarians are being asked to enter the park from the Garfield Street entrance and pass through one of three lanes for distribution. Last year, some people queued as early as 7am to pick up their order.

Anyone wishing to withdraw from free food must present an acceptable military ID- including Form DD 214, current military ID or VA ID card. In addition, a Veterinarian or active duty soldier must be present on the vehicle to receive the ham. Might as well have some turkeys to donate.

Fust says that by 2020, they have produced about 700 hams in less than an hour. This year, they will have 750 units and he expects them to launch quickly. Man of Honor Ham Giveaway scheduled for Saturday | WSAU News / Talk 550 AM · 99.9 FM
