Man killed in freak accident in Brooklyn on Thanksgiving

A man was killed in a freak Thanksgiving Day accident while unloading his truck in Brooklyn, police officers said.
The 31-year-old worker was transferring a pallet with doors from the truck to the forklift around 5:30 p.m. in Red Hook when the pallet fell on him, pinning him, authorities said.

First responders found him pinned between the large pallet and the forklift, police officers said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at Columbia Street and Creamer Street.

The city’s coroner’s office will officially confirm the cause of death for the man, whose identity has not been released pending notification of the family.
It was also unclear where the worker was employed.
