Man jumps to his death in front of Penn Station train

A man jumped to his death in front of a Penn Station subway train late Thursday, police officers said.

The straphanger, believed to be in his 20s, jumped in front of a No. 1 train entering 34th Street-Penn Station around 11:30 p.m., the train operator told police.

The man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, could not be immediately identified.

After the night-time incident, the trains initially ran with “significant delays”.
