A man in his 30s was taken to hospital after being splashed with ‘acid’ in the face.
The horrific attack took place in the quiet village of Rochdale, Greater Manchester just after 8:15pm last night 12/19.
Police said a man in his 30s was splashed with a substance – believed to be acid – in the face.
He was taken to the hospital with injuries to his face and arm.
It is believed that his injuries are not life-threatening and he is still in hospital.
Parts of the area have had their cords cut in part because images show an environmental cleanup team at the scene.
The risk reduction experts seem to have prepared a number of items to test.
In a statement, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers were called to reports of an attack on Ogden Road in Newhey just after 8.15pm last night (December 19, 2021).
“A man in his 30s threw a substance, suspected to be acid, in his face.
“Emergency services were performed and the man was taken to hospital where he still has arm and face injuries.
“The injuries are not considered life-threatening and he remains hospitalized.
“An investigation is ongoing and a crime scene is currently being worked on while officers carry out multiple lines of investigation.”
It comes after a Sun probe last Sunday found that almost 50 acid attacks a week take place in England and Wales.
