Man found shot dead in Goldsboro housing development near Seymour Johnson: police

GOLDSBORO, NC (WNCN) — Goldsboro police are investigating after a man was found shot to death in a housing authority community outside the gates of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Tuesday night, officials said Wednesday morning.
According to police, officers reported to the 252 Wisteria Road area at around 9:07 p.m. regarding a shoot-to-fire order.
At the scene, officers found 37-year-old Jeffery Devon Williams of Wisteria Road suffering from a single gunshot wound.
Medical personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced Williams dead.
The housing development where the shooting took place is about half a mile west of the Seymour Johnson border.
The shooting is still under investigation. No suspicious information has been released at this time.
