JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) – A man accused of sexually assaulting an incapacitated woman and filming the scene in 2016 was extradited from Ecuador by the Federal Bureau of Investigation last week.
Peter Dettmer, 69, is facing 126 sexual assault charges from an incident in Golden. Witnesses called police on June 10, 2016 to report a possible sexual assault at Millstone Condos at 660 11 St.
In an affidavit, they said they saw Dettmer drag the woman into the apartment and she appeared careless and deeply intoxicated. Witnesses told the Golden Police Department.
An officer arrived and continued to monitor remotely, the affidavit said. The apartment’s curtains were opened and the officer observed a woman fainting with a sex toy in her mouth.
Officers were directed to the apartment. When they knocked on the door and identified themselves, Dettmer removed the toy from the woman’s mouth and tried to get the video camera.
Dettmer was arrested and told officers that the woman and he did “this all the time, and we both took Ambien and had sex.”
The woman was taken to the hospital and questioned, but her answers varied due to her intoxication. Her blood alcohol level was 0.225, well above the legal limit for driving of 0.8.
Dettmer was arrested in Cuenca, Ecuador on April 27, but the FBI returned him to Jefferson County on November 24. The charges he faces are:
- 63 counts of Sexual assault – Helpless victim (F3 felony)
- 1 sexual assault – Victim incapacitated by force/drug/other (F3 felony)
- 62 counts Sexual assault – Incapable victim (F4 felony)
Dettmer’s first court date is scheduled for December 1.
