Man dead after shooting and car crash in Durham, police say

DURHAM, NC (WNCN) – Just four days after a man was shot and killed while driving in Durham, police have fired another similar shooting.

The shooting in broad daylight killed a man driving a jeep along NC 55, according to Durham Police.

Thursday just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday, police said they received a call about a car crash that injured people in the 800 block of South Street.

“Officials arrived at the scene about a minute after the call was sent and found an adult male who had been shot,” police said in a press release.

The man died at the scene of the crime. A CBS 17 reporter at the scene said a gold Toyota Prius appeared to be involved in the incident.

Portions of South Street and Chestnut Street were closed while police conducted investigations Thursday night.
