OXFORD (CBS) – A Worcester man is facing his seventh OUI offense after a crash and K-9 police chase through the woods in Oxford, authorities said.
Roland Hurley, 56, was released on $10,000 bail and was taken to Dudley County Court on Friday. He was charged with drinking OUI (fourth offense or more), leaving the scene of the accident with personal injury, leaving the scene of the accident causing property damage, operating a recovered vehicle license and negligent motor vehicle operation.
At around 7pm on Monday, officers responded to an accident on Sutton Avenue near a McDonald’s, Oxford Police said. Police said the stolen vehicle is believed to have fled the scene, and the driver fled into the woods on Main Street.
Both Oxford and Charlton police K-9 units were deployed to track down the driver.
“The suspect was aware K-9 was closing the door, was out of the woods, and was being observed by an Oxford officer who arrested the suspect,” Oxford police said in a statement.
