Man arrested in fatal shooting of 17-year-old girl: Fayetteville police

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WNCN) – Fayetteville Police Department is calling in the suspect the shooting of a 17-year-old in May was arrested in South Carolina.
Lamon Isaiah Townsend, 21, is charged with first-degree murder.
Members of the US Marshals Service Task Force arrested him Wednesday in Bennettsville, South Carolina.
On May 13, police said Townsend shot the teenager multiple times near a CashPoints ATM in the parking lot at 5709 Yadkin Rd. on the corner of Santa Fe Drive.
Police say the teenager, whose name will not be released due to his age, was taken to hospital where he died from gunshot wounds.
Townsend remains in prison in South Carolina awaiting extradition to Fayetteville.
