LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A Texan man was arrested in Lee County on human trafficking charges.
Florida Highway Patrol soldiers intercepted a Lincoln Navigator on I-75 near Bayshore in North Fort Myers. A fraudulent temporary non-Texas license card was attached to the SUV.
Abel Navas-Salazar, 19, was driving an SUV with four passengers inside, FHP said. He brought passengers, illegal immigrants, to Miami to make money.
Navas-Salazar was arrested for driving without a valid license, operating an unregistered vehicle, tagging an unissued driver’s license, and four counts of human smuggling, the soldiers said.
The four passengers were assigned to federal agents with the Department of Homeland Security for immigration processing.
