Man, 65, killed after being hit by a car involved in an accident in New York

A 65-year-old man was killed when a car involved in an accident crashed into him on Memorial Day in Brooklyn, police officers said.

Two vehicles collided around 10:15 a.m. at West 1st Street and Avenue P in Gravesend, authorities said.

One of the cars involved then hit the pedestrian, police said.

The man, whose name was not released until the family was notified, was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Both drivers stayed at the scene and the accident is being investigated.

The police initially had no information about the vehicles involved or their drivers.
