(Reuters) – Health authorities in the northern Chinese port city of Tianjin have detected the first case of the Omicron coronavirus variant in the mainland of the country, the state-run Tianjin Daily reported on Monday.

The newspaper said that this patient is currently being treated in isolation in the hospital.
