Lunch ladies fool kids with Easter eggs – with surprise filling

A trick, but no treat.

Lunch Ladies in Florida were in an April Fools’ mood this year and played a practical joke on their young students.

Pre-K teacher Tiffany Page shared a hilarious TikTok video of the joke, which has now been viewed 256,700 times.

The clip shows several lunch trays containing cheeseburgers, smiley-face fries, fruit and milk – plus a colorful and deceptive Easter egg to complete the meal.

Page films two of her students opening the mystery egg to reveal a healthy snack.

“Broccoli,” the young students say, visibly disappointed when the green vegetable sprout from the plastic eggs in which sweets are usually hidden.

The video was captured as students collected trays of food for lunch last Friday on April Fool’s Day, just a few weeks before Easter.

A surprising number of parents realized that their children would actually be happy if they received an Easter egg filled with broccoli.

“But these are the saddest lunches. Now that’s just an added disappointment,” one viewer commented, while another joked, “Emotional damage!!”

“And that’s how the riot started…” teased a shocked viewer.

But many others left comments in support of the “funny” and “cute” prank to put the young students in a giggly mood.

“I love these cute school jokes,” said one supporter, and someone added, “That’s a harmless prank, I love that.”

Another seemed to feel a rush of nostalgia.

“This would have been so fun for us as kids,” they wrote. “How great lunch ladies who remember being a kid.”
