Luka Doncic held back after ‘reckless’ taunting by Sun’s fan

Luka Doncic had to be stopped from chasing a Suns fan as he walked into the Mavericks locker room at halftime in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Wednesday night.
The Mavericks star point guard abruptly turned and pointed the finger at the culprit before being escorted into the locker room.
“He just said some reckless things, man,” Doncic said. “I won’t repeat that. A lot of fans say that because they know there’s nothing we can do.”
“If it was something normal I wouldn’t even look because I don’t care. Sometimes you’re in a bad mood and they say bad things, it’s normal, we’re human and it’s normal to turn around and get angry.”
After that, things went downhill for Doncic and the Mavericks. A 60-58 halftime lead resolved into a 129-109 Suns loss and a 2-0 series advantage for the top seeded Phoenix.
It wasn’t due to a lack of commitment from the Slovenian. Doncic had 35 points, five rebounds and seven assists.

“He had a great game, but nobody else showed it,” said Mavericks coach Jason Kidd. “We have to get other guys to shoot the ball better. We can’t win if it’s just him out there making 30 points a night – not at this time of year. And we’re playing against the best team in the league, so we have to get other guys to work.”
The series travels to Dallas for Game 3 on Friday night.
