Love Island producer addresses claims Jacques has been kicked out of the ITV2 series

A producer of island of love has addressed claims that Jacques O’Neill was asked to leave the show.
Earlier this week, ITV announced that Jacques had left the villa. In the following episode, the contestant shared the news with his islanders.
The decision came after Jacques lost his temper over newcomer, former candidate Adam Collard.
Upon arriving at the villa, Adam expressed interest in Paige Thorne, with whom Jacques was coupled.
Adam’s introduction to this year’s series came after a rough week for Jacques and Paige due to Jacques’ behavior following the annual Casa Amor twist.
Jacques eventually decided to stay with Paige despite forming a bond with new contestant Cheyanne. Paige was quickly told of Jacques’ antics away from her, after which she distanced herself from Jacques, who spent days trying to win her back.
After discovering that Adam had “slagged” him, Jacques became furious and branded the contestant “fucking nothing.”
The next day, Jacques told Paige that he was “struggling” and that he was disappointed in himself for letting his emotions run free. “I’m having a hard time here,” he admitted, adding, “I’m trying to be brave, but things are getting to me.
“I just wish I could finish my journey with you in here, but I’m going home today.”

Many viewers were convinced that Jacques had been asked by the producers to leave the villa because of concerns about his mental health. Others took to Twitter to highlight that the other contestants didn’t seem too surprised to leave Jacques’ decision, and theorized that he might have become even more angry with Adam in unaired scenes – another reason why these viewers expressed the belief that that the show’s producers may have resigned in.
However, in a new interview with meetingexecutive producer Mike Spencer said it wasn’t.
“Jacques is amazing; we love Jacques,” Spencer said. “Of course, when you date, your emotions go up and down. Finding love isn’t easy, which is why the show is so relatable. Jacques was on his own journey and he had a strong connection with Paige, but sometimes you have to think of yourself and Jacques did that.
“We respected his decision to go home but I think he’s looking forward to being there After sun on Sunday to discuss his trip.”
Spencer continued, “It’s not often talked about in the press, but there are many crew members who have worked on every single season. We take this very seriously and have updated our due diligence procedures. I think Jacques felt like his time was up and we as producers have to respect his decision.
“Adam came in and got along with a lot of girls. Did that influence Jacques’ decision to leave? Jacques would have to explain that.”
