Love Island: Michael Owen responds to daughter Gemma in infamous heart rate challenge

Michael Owen has apparently reacted to his daughter Gemma’s attendance island of love‘s infamous heart rate challenge.

19-year-old Gemma, an international dressage rider, is one of this year’s contestants on the ITV2 dating show.

As part of a challenge that aired on Tuesday night (June 28), Gemma was tasked with dressing up in a seductive outfit in hopes of raising the pulse of her partner Luca and the other boys at the villa.

Her outfit included a riding crop as a nod to her successful career and love of horses.

As the episode aired, Gemma’s father shared with the football legend his reaction to the scenes on social media.

Posting on Twitter, the former England and Liverpool player simply used an emoji of a face covering his eyes with his hands.

Fans of the show have speculated how Owen would react to his eldest child appearing on the show since Gemma was announced as part of the Season 8 cast.

This appears to be the first time the sports star has addressed Gemma’s participation in the cheeky series.

“Turn off the TV, mate,” one fan suggested.

Meanwhile, at Villa, Gemma’s efforts to make the boys’ hearts beat faster did not go unrewarded; Luca, Jay and Jacques all reported their highest heart rates during their performance.
