Lorde postpones Solar Power’s US tour dates due to ‘terrible laryngitis’

Lorde has moved some of her solar power US tour dates due to ‘terrible laryngitis’.

Over the weekend, the 25-year-old singer had to cancel her show at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Arena and Anthem in Washington DC due to illness.

The singer wrote: “This past couple [of] I’ve been struggling with a terrible laryngitis for days and I’m sorry to report that my voice hasn’t recovered enough to play the show for you.

Lorde, whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, apologized to her fans for the cancellations.

“I’m so sorry. I don’t take postponing a show lightly,” she said. “I’ve tried everything and unfortunately it’s physically impossible for me to sing much of the set. Please accept my sincere apologies. Other than that, all is well and I’m really looking forward to celebrating with you when I’m able. Information on rescheduling to follow.”

The Connecticut and Washington DC shows have now been pushed back to August 25 and 29, respectively.

Tickets for the original shows remain valid for the replacement dates.

The US section of Lorde’s solar power The tour kicked off in Nashville earlier this month and is expected to resume in New York City on Monday (April 18).

Lorde will also be performing in the UK and Europe this year.
