This is up from $2,280 last year, according to the Fool.

It’s just average, and families can get more or less $3,536 when they get a refund.

Joe Biden’s Rescue Americans Plan has seen eligible adults receive $1,400 stimulus checks.

The president also expanded the child tax credit program from $2,000 to $3,600.

Millions of families who received upfront payments last year are lining up to receive up to $1,800 per child on their tax returns.

Parents pocket $300 for each child under six, while the amount is $250 for dependents ages six to 17.

Parents who have received prepayments should see Letter 6419 sent.

It includes the total amount of child tax credit prepayments that taxpayers receive in 2021 and the number of eligible children used to calculate advances.

People should keep this letter and any other IRS letters about child tax credit prepayments with their tax records.

Families who have opted out of pre-tax credits can receive up to $3,600 per child on tax returns.

The IRS says more than 33.4 million returns have been processed – up 12.2% from last year.

Bosses urge Americans to file their taxes electronically and say refunds will be issued in less than three weeks.

Individual tax returns are usually due on April 15, but this year, the date falls on Liberation Day.

Emancipation Day is a public holiday in the district and government offices are closed.

This means that the deadline for filing individual tax returns is April 18.

Americans can check the status of their refund at Where is my refund page on the IRS website.

However, the IRS only updates the status once a weekday.

This update usually happens between midnight and 6am.

It doesn’t update status more than once a day, so checking more than once throughout the day won’t give taxpayers a different result.
