Lonnie Teagle accused of inappropriately touching high school girls
According to local reports, a former Texas high school football coach has been accused of inappropriately touching at least five girls and punching two of them.
Lonnie Teagle was arrested on two felonies related to the alleged conduct before his arrest at Patricia E. Paetow High School last month.
Police officers from the Katy Independent School District began an investigation into Teagle on Oct. 11 when two students went to school principals with complaints, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
One of the teenage girls told police Teagle, 39, sexually touched her and her best friend, both just 15, according to a probable cause statement seen by the newspaper.
Inappropriate comments in early September then led to inappropriate hugs, officials said. As he hugged them, Teagle allegedly moved his hands to their bottoms and told them not to tell others, the newspaper reported.
On September 5, the teenage girl said she was pulled onto his lap in a school office and saw he had an erection when she got up.
Then, a few days later, the trainer took the two girls to any room and told them “he was going to beat them up,” according to court documents reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The student reportedly told authorities Teagle bent her over his lap and hit her three times before beating her friend.
The second student told officers she felt Teagle’s erect penis during the Sept. 5 incident when he also allegedly pulled her onto his lap, court documents show. According to the newspaper, it was one of the many disturbing times she thought he was erect when he touched her.
Another time, Teagle allegedly rubbed her thighs and made interfering contact with her vagina while it was over her clothing, officials reportedly said.
When he allegedly spanked both students, the coach asked them if they liked sex, the second girl said, according to officials.
The harassment stopped thereafter, and Teagle brought both girls Chipotle the next day as an apology, before “formally apologizing” on Sept. 9, the probable cause statement said.
After the two girls came forward, three other teenagers also contacted authorities, claiming Teagle touched them and made inappropriate comments about them, according to court records, Star-Telegram reported.
And in September, complaints were also filed against him by three school district staffers, who said Teagle “had felt uncomfortable on several occasions because of his inappropriate comments, touches and manners,” the newspaper reported.
Teagle was charged earlier this month with indecency with a child and improper relationship with a Harris County student.
The school district said they were briefed on the charges by Harris County prosecutors after several weeks of investigating Teagle, KHOU reported. He is threatened with charges in connection with one of the previous victims, the television station reported.
The KHOU reported at the time that he had resigned from his position as head coach last month for personal reasons.
“The district takes any potential safety concerns seriously,” the school district said in a statement this week. “If they become aware of an allegation regarding an employee, the individual will be immediately removed from his/her assignment/duties while district personnel quickly work with law enforcement and other agencies to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being.” to ensure students.”
Before taking the job as head coach at Paetow High School, he was offensive coordinator at Billy Ryan High School in Denton, Texas, where his behavior also prompted complaints, the Houston Chronicle reported.
He allegedly complimented a student’s breasts and asked female students for back massages, police told the newspaper.
