LoL Patch 12.6 Notes: Release Date, PBE Leaks, Rengar Overhaul, Anima Squad Skins

League of Legends patch 12.6 is on the way – after the long hiatus, Riot returns with a major overhaul of Rengar, nerfs to meta champions Hecarim and Tryndamere, and big changes to Lifesteal. Here are the full patch notes for the late March update.
Have you been waiting for League of Legends Patch 12.6 for a while? It’s felt like ages since the last major update went live in early March, although the B patch that shipped a week ago certainly helped shake up the AD carry meta.
However, it’s back to normal as Riot resumes the regular patch schedule. There’s a lot on the radar: meta champions like Hecarim are primed for nerfs, the Rengar overhaul that’s been promised for months is finally here, and Lifesteal is getting a major overhaul.
Oh, and in case you forgot, the Anima Squad skins and event should be right around the corner too.
Here’s what you need to know about League of Legends Patch 12.6, including the full patch notes.

There will be a few hours of downtime when patching begins and matchmaking queues will be taken offline approximately three hours beforehand.

Rengar’s long-awaited overhaul is finally live.
What’s Coming in League of Legends Patch 12.6?
The Rengar revamp is finally live after months of tinkering
It’s been in the works for months, but it’s finally here in LoL patch 12.6: the Rengar Mini overhaul. Pridestalker’s major changes have gone through a few iterations, but Riot finally settled on one that will be fun for both players and will raise his skill level healthily.
These include more uptime on his passive ferocity, increased jump range, guaranteed critical hits on his Q, and a reduction in his cast times. The changes, which Riot says are purely “positive,” open up his build paths only from the RNG crit builds he had to go for in order to max out damage.
Otherwise, on the buffs front, Azir gains a health-per-level buff that many joke could push him back into the pro game spotlight. Darius, Jax and Nidalee also intervene across the board.

Azir buffs? Faker calls.
The meta champions Hecarim and Tryndamere were hit with nerfs
Since the Xin Zhao nerfs, Hecarim has been at the top of League’s jungle ladder. However, with LoL patch 12.6, the horse is reined in with some nerfs to its base damage at Q and E. While it doesn’t affect its usefulness, Hecarim should now be slightly weaker at all levels – especially with its tank builds.
Tryndamere suffers a similar fate after dominating the top lane meta. His ultimate gets a cooldown increase to stop the constant tower diving, while his E-Spin’s cooldown reduction based on critical hits is also nerfed.
These are the only two champion nerfs planned for the next League of Legends update so far.

Hecarim has a 50.28% win rate across all ranks, but one of the highest jungle presences in the game.
Lifesteal changes aim to rebalance sustain meta
As part of their overall goal of reducing healing and survivability in League of Legends, Riot is taking a big step towards lifesteal in LoL patch 12.6.
Select items from the Vampiric Scepter to the Immortal Shield Bow have a power shift from their lifesteal stats to more combat stats like AD or Health.
The Fleet Footwork and Legend: Bloodline runes in the Precision tree are also nerfed, while Domination’s Ravenous Hunter is removed for Treasure Hunter – a new rune that grants bonus gold for each respective enemy on your first takedown, equivalent to a 550 gold injection after that equals five unique kills and assists.

Lifesteal and Sustain are on Riot’s radar during League of Legends Season 12.
