LoL Champion 162 Details: Pride of Nazumah leaks, abilities, release date

League of Legends is getting a new tank top laner in Season 12 ⁠— Riot has shared the first details on the Pride of Nazumah, which will shake up the meta with a high-skill twist. Here’s what we know about Champion 162, including its abilities and release date.

Riot expands the horizons of the League of Legends champion roster in Season 12. First there was Zeri, an ability-centric (sort of) AD carry, followed by the controlling Renata Glasc, who put a twist on the Enchanter support role.

With a void jungle and another shooter in tow, it’s only fair that tanks get some love. Riot is doing just that with the Pride of Nazumah ⁠ – the hero behind the recently revealed Shurima area.

Lead Champion Producer Ryan “Reav3” Mireles described the Pride of Nazumah as “a new top-lane, high-skill tank from a region of Shurima that hasn’t been seen before.” in the April roadmap.

“We looked at our tank list and realized that we didn’t have Aphelios, Azir or Yasuo on top lane tanks. They are medium to low skilled and complex”, he added on Reddit.

“The goal with this champion was to finally add a highly skilled/highly complex tank to the list. Something that players who like that kind of stuff can really dig their teeth into and get through hundreds of games.”

The pride of Nazumah will be the “Yasuo the tank top laner” in League.

There are concerns that a highly skilled tank will be difficult to balance in pro play. Riot tries to allay those fears with some deliberate balancing choices.

Developer Daniel ‘Maxw3ll’ Emmons, who is leading the charge with Pride of Nazumah, stated that they would be a little needier than other top lane tanks ⁠— which can often be weak with low gold, but is effective in battles.

“The current roster of tanks tend to have fairly easy to spot patterns and approach combat in a similar way. Our goal with this character is to create a tank that appeals to players who like deep mastery curves and characters that really test your ability to approach combat in a clever way.

“I don’t want to go into detail as we’re still pretty far out and it’s not all settled yet, but in general we want to make sure they rely more on gold than other tanks, which tend to still be successful when.” you play on the weak side.”

Pride of Nazumah in League of Legends Release Date

Riot has confirmed that Pride of Nazumah, League of Legends’ 162nd champion, will be released some time later in Season 12. However, an exact patch and date are not yet available.
