Months of isolation at home during the pandemic turned into a dance party at Chris Kopec’s house, and the idea became a viral phenomenon.
“We started dance parties as a way to entertain the family in our home,” says Kopec.
The idea became a viral phenomenon, encouraging others to join the fun and also donate.
“The holidays are about family, and we know that the holidays aren’t easy for everyone, and we wanted to bring in some smiles and a little cheer,” Kopec said.
As a way to ring in the holiday cheer, DJ Kopec will host a live dance party on Thursday, December 9 at the B&O Railroad Museum for its second annual toy drive his.
His track record is quite impressive. This hometown DJ has surpassed 2 million USD in donations. Last year, Kopec collected 29,000 toys, which were sent to hospitals, schools and nonprofits in the Baltimore area.
“It was one of the best things we did as a family and something I will always remember,” Kopec said.
He hopes to be repeated thanks to sponsors, volunteers and of course his fans.
“We call it the ‘fam’ of DJ Kopec and this ‘fam’ continues to support and do great things.”
