The Issue: A city attorney told she was fired after confronting Mayor Adams about masking children.

We’ve hit quite a rock bottom in our country (“[Don’t] Say it to his face!” 4. April). One mother, Daniela Jampel, was fired for defending children.

Mayor Adams has achieved the impossible. He made Mayor Bill de Blasio seem competent and moral.

He says he’s following the science by keeping toddlers in masks. What science? This man is a great threat.

Ken McCarthy

This is where Adams should step up and show that he is the “mayor of the people” and not just another pompous politician.

This woman confronted him during another of his countless sermons out of sheer frustration about New York City’s mask edicts.

The timing of her dismissal is indeed suspect, and Adams should have that department’s decision immediately and independently reviewed. It smacks of vengeance no matter how bureaucrats spin it. If legitimate, their personnel file provides dated and signed documentation.

It is ironic that whenever it suits the left’s agenda, politicians can be approached at close range and intimidated in elevators, at meals, in parking garages, etc., without consequences.

The firing of a city worker for speaking up is just another example of Democrats refusing to listen to their constituents and abandoning their draconian policy of over-exaggerating the government.

This whole mask-requirement policy is just another way Democrats can wield control over children, to show them that the government, not their parents, is in control of their young lives.

For those of you who believe that Adams will fundamentally change our city for the better, don’t get your hopes up.

He’s just another Democratic hacker who won’t give up on the continued failed policies of the progressive left that have his party in a stranglehold.

Michael D’Auria

Further proof that this mayor isn’t up to the task of cleaning up this once great city – he’s now a liar to boot.

He said masks would be removed from children under the age of 5 on April 4 if numbers stayed low. Well they did – and he kept his word. The tots are the least affected by COVID, but they must keep the masks on.

Now, crime and gun violence are through the roof and getting worse, not better.

The problem: A study by the Fed in San Francisco shows that President Biden’s policies have contributed to inflation.

Democrats continue to make excuses for skyrocketing gas and energy prices“It’s Biden’s price hike” Editorial, April 5).

It is crystal clear that the current situation is the result of White House initiatives.

A “healthy” combination of undermining the US oil industry and pumping more money into an economy that doesn’t need it was the catalyst for where we are now.

This has gone on for well over a year, and efforts have been made to blame corporate greed Wladimir Putin as drivers grow old and tired.

Is President Biden hoping to raise his approval ratings to President Richard Nixon’s level? and Jimmy Carter? Finally, they tried price controls and see what it did for them!

I can only remember the observation by PJ O’Rourke: “If politicians are responsible for how things are bought and sold, the first things to be bought and sold are politicians.”
