‘Let’s go’: Ivan Toney reacts to today’s Arsenal news

England striker Ivan Toney has reacted to David Raya securing a move from Brentford to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal this summer.

Arsenal initially signed the Spain goalkeeper on loan but can make that deal permanent next summer.

When David Raya’s deal was confirmed, he posted on his Instagram that he can’t wait to get started.

Although the 27-year-old was number one at Brentford, he has decided to take that step up where Aaron Ramsdale already has a top player ahead of him.

That’s why many have questioned Arsenal’s call for Raya, including former Premier League veteran Brad Friedel.

However, when Raya went to his IG to talk about his move, he received a number of messages from players in the comments section.

Ivan Toney, who is suspended until January, wrote: “My boy. “Let’s go,” while Gabriel added “Welcome,” and Bryan Mbeumo said, “Let’s go my friend.”

Big risk for Arteta to sign Raya

Nobody questions the reputation of bringing in a player of Raya’s quality, he has been a top player in the Premier League for a number of years and he is ready to make the move to a Champions League team.

But it’s reputation for bringing him in when Ramsdale is already the key player – Peter Schmeichel was another who was critical.

Either way, if Arteta pulls it off, there’s no doubt Arsenal will go a step further.
