On Tuesday the Santa Barbara News Press said in an obituary that Herrin passed away “peacefully” on October 28, 2022 in Santa Barbara, California, where she lived until her death.
Herrin made a name for herself as a model during her lifetime, and her obituary states that she has graced the covers of dozens of magazines. She also appeared in several films including the 1984 film ghostbustersin which she appeared as a ghost during a scene with Dan Aykroyd’s character Ray Stantz, and Romanticize the stone.

According to Herrin’s obituary, she loved to travel and sail, a passion that inspired her to live “several years” aboard a 75-foot yacht.
Though the obituary doesn’t list a cause of death, it does indicate that those who wish can make a donation in Herrin’s memory to the American Cancer Society to “advance research into the prevention and treatment of breast cancer.”
Herrin is survived by several family members, including her mother and brother, and is “sorryly missed by all who knew and loved her,” the obituary reads.
On Facebook, Herrin’s niece, Theresa Ramirez, marked the model’s death with an emotional tribute, noting that her aunt is now reunited with her late sisters.
“They are all together now. Aunt Kymberly Mistress. Love you,” Ramirez captioned the photo, which showed Herrin sitting on the beach with her two older sisters.
The post was met with a flurry of condolences over Herrin’s death, with one person revealing that she feels the “pain” of the “loss”. “She was so special to so many people, I’m not sure she knew how many people loved and adored her,” they wrote. “I was always touched by her humor and sensitivity towards others. Words are not enough.”
Another wrote: “Such sad news. Kym was so kind and had a sweetness that the world needs now more than ever. God bless you and my condolences to you and your family.”
