Ahead of PSG’s Champions League exit, sporting director Leonardo spoke of his optimism that Mbappe could extend his stay.

He said L’Equipe: “I can’t say exactly what the chances are that Mbappé will extend, but we have options.

“As long as there is no signing (at another club) we will try everything. We will do everything to keep Kylian.

“The last thing we write in his contract will be the payroll.

“We want to give Kylian the best possible conditions to become the best possible player.”

Mbappe has been in fine form once again this season – with 26 goals and 17 assists in 37 games in all competitions.
