Twitch streamer and tech-focused YouTuber KristoferYee has claimed Artesian Builds deliberately throttled PC performance after allegedly finding several computers with underclocked graphics cards.
On March 1, PC builder Artesian Builds came under fire after Twitch streamer Kiapiaa posted to Twitter clips of company CEO Noah Katz toasting her stream stats and refusing to give her the computer to give the one she had just won.
As the situation gained momentum on social media, Mizkif and Asmongold’s organization “OTK” announced they were parting ways with the company, while YouTuber Onepegmg revealed that the company had not paid its taxes and cannot do business in California.
Now, tech-focused YouTuber KristoferYee claims that Artesian Builds deliberately throttled PC performance after allegedly finding computers with underclocked parts.
Artesian Increases PC performance
During his March 2 Twitch stream, KristoferYee spoke to his viewers about the recent situation with Artesian Builds, claiming he’s heard many complaints about the company’s computers overheating.
“Do you know what they did to combat their overheating issues?” he asked. “One of the content creators who asked me to take a look at his Artesian Builds PC said he wasn’t getting the performance he was supposed to be getting from his computer.
“We looked at everything on her computer and realized that there was some kind of EVGA software there that I hadn’t seen before.”
He further revealed that the EVGA software included on the PC was the company’s overclocking software – and he found that the graphics card was throttled by 10% to combat the overheating problem.
This underclocking was allegedly done without the creator’s consent and would have been the reason they weren’t getting full performance from their computer.
KristoferYee also uploaded a situation video on his YouTube channel with information about his own personal experience with Noah Katz and Artesian Builds.
In the video, he reveals that he doesn’t like the way Katz spoke about the ambassadors – echoing similar comments from NICKMERCS.
Kristofer also reveals some interactions other developers have had with the company, with some stating they are afraid of the consequences.
