Klingberg Scores In Half To Lift Past Stars Blackhawks, 4-3 – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

John Klingberg scored in the 2:13 powerhouse in extra time and the Dallas Stars beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 on Saturday night.

Joe Pavelski had two goals and two assists, and Jason Robertson also scored for Dallas. Jake Oettinger saved 20 shots to help the Stars end a five-game losing streak followed by a franchise-record seven win streak.

Dominik Kubalik, Alex DeBrincat and Dylan Strome scored for Chicago, while Kevin Lankinen made 35 saves. The Blackhawks lost 3/4 (1-2-1).

In extra time, Klingberg received a pass from Pavelski and beat Lankinen from the right round to get his first goal in 23 games this season.

Kubalik knocked down Brandon Hagel on one shot to equalize 3-3 at 11:55 of the third inning after being presented with a gift by the Stars’ Roope Hintz.

Pavelski scored twice in the powerhouse after a massive penalty against Chicago’s Brett Connelly in the first period. Pavelski also assisted in Robertson’s second-half goal, making it 3-1.

Connelly was penalized 3:02 in the game when he overcame Stars center Tanner Kero. Kero was taken out of the ice on a stretcher with his head immobilized. In addition to five minutes for the interference, Connelly received one in-game misconduct.

Pavelski’s first goal came when his shot from the opposite circle to the right missed defender Seth Jones and edged past Lankinen at 5:16. Just two minutes later, Pavelski cushioned Hintz right in front of the net and put the ball in the net.

Before the period ended, the Stars reported that Kero was “awake, alert, and responsive”. He was taken to the hospital for preventive measures and evaluation.

DeBrincat celebrated his 24th birthday with his 17th goal of the season on a power play at 4:04 of the second half. His hit beat Oettinger on his 23rd birthday to pull the Blackhawks up 2-1.

The Blackhawks’ Robertson and Dylan Strome swapped goals 1:29 in the second half, ending with the Stars leading 3-2.
