Kirstie Alley, who died on Monday, is said to be cremated.
The “Cheers” actress, a longtime member of the Church of Scientology, is also expected to hold a memorial service at the organization’s flag building at its headquarters in Clearwater, Fla., according to the Daily Mail.
The Post has sought comment from church officials and Alley, who was 71 when she died after a brief battle with colon cancer.
Alley’s children announced their deaths on their official Twitter account.
“We are saddened to announce that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with only recently diagnosed cancer,” the statement said.
The children said in their statement that Alley was “surrounded by her immediate family” at the time of her death and that she “fought with great strength.”
“The zest for life and passion of our mother, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy in creating, was unparalleled and inspires us to live life to the fullest, just as she did.” it further in the announcement.
Her Dancing With the Stars partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy also wrote a tribute to the late actress.
“My dearest Kirstie,” the professional dancer began the post alongside a photo of the couple on the show. “We haven’t spoken lately and I’ll tell you everything when I finally see you, but for now I want to say that I love you very much and wish you the most peaceful rest,” he wrote of Alley, who danced with Chmerkovskiy in seasons 12 and 15.
“You were one of the most unique people I’ve ever met, and certainly one of the brightest moments of my personal and professional life,” he added of Alley, with whom he’s had a complicated — and sometimes fraught — friendship over the years .
Alley’s last television appearance was on Fox’s The Masked Singer in April.
