Kingdom Hearts 4 announced, but all people can talk about is Sora’s shoe size

Square Enix shocked the gaming world on April 10th when they revealed that Kingdom Hearts 4 is in the works. Though the game’s announcement stunned fans, Sora’s new appearance stole the show.

Japanese gaming giant Square Enix hosted Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary celebrations on April 10, 2022.

While there have been countless announcements from the show, the reveal of Kingdom Hearts 4 was the most notable. Just three years after the release of Kingdom Hearts 3, many fans weren’t expecting a new entry in the franchise any time soon.

While the game’s new graphical style was shocking in itself, one particular change to Sora made social media go insane.

Sora looks radically different from his earlier cartoon self in Kingdom Hearts 4.

Kingdom Hearts 4 actually changes Sora’s shoe size

Sora has been one of the most iconic characters in gaming since debuting with the first Kingdom Hearts game in 2002. He’s also always been known for one trait: his massive yellow clown shoes.

However, with the reveal of KH4, the franchise takes a completely different artistic direction by giving the Keyblade wielder regular sized feet.

That means his massive shoes are gone. In the Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer, we saw the protagonist rocking what appeared to be high-top converses. This change captivated social media users and KH fans, who were stunned by the choice.

Another Twitter user was jokingly upset with Sora’s newly shrunken feet.

The jokes kept rolling as the sarcastic outrage over the switch to Sora’s shoe just wouldn’t stop. Said a KH fan, “You come to my house on MY weekend… and dress Sora in normal size KH4 shoes. You disrespect me and my family that way.”

It’s certainly been a roller-coaster ride of a day for Kingdom Hearts fans, and even if you’re not actually all that interested in the visuals of KH4, there’s still a lot to look forward to for the future of the franchise.
