Kentucky’s Amber Bowling admits to murdering her newborn in 2018

According to local reports, a Kentucky woman admitted to killing her newborn baby by throwing it off a second floor railing in 2018.

Amber Bowling pleaded guilty to the murder of her baby boy at a court hearing Monday, TV network LEX 18 reported.

Kentucky State Police said Bowling, then 21, gave birth to a boy in December 2018, according to LEX 18. Bowling placed the crying child in a garbage bag and threw the bag over a railing on the second floor of a Clay County condominium, according to the broadcaster.

The baby was killed just hours after his mother was born, officials said at the time.

“It’s heartbreaking,” Kentucky State Police Officer Lloyd Cochran told LEX 18 before an arrest was made. “Baffles your mind when you think about who might have done this and why.”

State police officials said officers received a call in 2018 about a newborn baby who was found dead in a garbage bag on the porch of an apartment building. A day after the discovery, Bowling was charged with murder.

Bowling’s arrest warrant said the child suffered a fractured skull, cracked ribs and cerebral hemorrhage.

Her sentencing date is June 27th. The recommended sentence is 40 years, LEX18 reported. Kentucky’s Amber Bowling admits to murdering her newborn in 2018
