Kentucky doctor Stephanie Russell pays the killer $7,000 to kill her ex-husband

A Kentucky doctor is accused of hiring a hitman to kill her ex-husband, federal officials say.

Stephanie Russell, 52, a pediatrician in Louisville, allegedly agreed to pay an undercover FBI agent $7,000 to beat her ex-spouse last Sunday, according to US prosecutors.

On Wednesday, Russell left $3,500 in cash in a mailbox outside her office to pay half of the fake killer’s bill, the FBI says.

She had allegedly told the agent she would pay him the other half after he finished the job.

According to Salary.com, the average Louisville pediatrician makes $199,300 per year.

Russell has been accused of using interstate trade facilities in committing contract killings and faces 10 years in prison, authorities said.

Her online biography on Norton Children’s Medical Group had been deactivated Friday evening.
