Katy Jonathan Allen Frost man pleads guilty to conspiracy to attack US power grid

KATY, Texas (KTRK) – A Katy man is among men who have pleaded guilty to conspiring to hack the electrical grid across the US.

According to the Justice Department, the men conspired to attack with the intent to promote racial or ethnic violent extremism in support of white racial supremacy.

Jonathan Allen Frost, 24, of Katy, along with Christopher Brenner Cook, 20, of Columbus, Ohio, and Jackson Matthew Sawall, 22, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to provide material assistance to people terrorist.

A virtual hearing was held Wednesday in Columbus, where federal authorities said the men hoped to cause economic hardship and unrest.

Each of the men faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. Frost’s attorney said his client took responsibility for his conduct and “completely rejects the racist and extremist views of white people.”
