Kari Lake is seeking election protocols in the Arizona County trial

PHOENIX — Kari Lake, the defeated Republican nominee for Arizona governor, has filed a public lawsuit asking Maricopa County to turn over a variety of documents related to the election.
Lake has refused to acknowledge that she lost to Democrat Katie Hobbs and for weeks has drawn attention to voters who said they experienced long lines and other difficulties when voting on Election Day in Arizona’s largest county.
Her attorney, Tim LaSota, says in the lawsuit filed Wednesday that the county failed to honor public record requests filed Nov. 15 and 16. The applications aim to identify voters who may have had problems voting, e.g. B. People who have checked in at more than one polling center or those who have returned an absentee ballot and also registered at a polling station.
Lake is also asking for information on counted and uncounted ballots that were accidentally shuffled. County officials have acknowledged the problem has arisen in a handful of voting centers but say it occurs in most elections and can be reconciled.
Lake and her allies have bombarded Maricopa County with complaints of Election Day problems, largely stemming from a problem with printers at some polling centers that caused them to print ballots with markings too light to read from the on-site tabs to be read. All ballots were counted, but Lake says some of her supporters may not have been able to cast a ballot amid the chaos.

Lake wants the county to provide the records before confirming the election. The board of directors, controlled 4-1 by Republicans, votes to confirm the election on Monday, the deadline under state law. Certification votes are also scheduled for Monday in five other counties, including two where Republican regulators earlier voted to postpone certification of the election.
The nationwide selection is scheduled for December 5th.
County officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Friday. Board Chairman Bill Gates, a Republican, said the county took responsibility for the printer problem but accused prominent Republicans, including state GOP Chair Kelli Ward, of exacerbating the problem by telling voters they should not allow their ballots to be counted at polling headquarters downtown Phoenix.
