Kanye West said he asked Donald Trump to be his 2024 presidential nominee

Kanye West announced that he has asked former US President Donald Trump to be his running mate for the 2024 presidential election.

In a tweet shared on Wednesday (Nov. 23), the 45-year-old rapper said he was visiting Trump’s resort town of Mar-a-Lago for the first time.

“First time in Mar-a-Lago,” wrote West, who legally changed his name to Ye. “Rain and traffic. I can’t believe I kept President Trump waiting. And I was wearing jeans.

“What you think [Trump’s] Answer was when I asked him if he would be my running mate in 2024?” Ye, who was running for office in 2020, added.

Trump, the first president in US history to be impeached twice, said earlier this month that he was running for office for the third time.

Ye announced earlier this week that he intended to run for president in 2024 as well.

In a video posted to X17’s YouTube channel on Sunday (November 20), Ye appeared with far-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos, in which he appeared to refer to him as his campaign manager.

Yes’s 2020 campaign became known for its unpredictability following claims that he could win over some black voters who may have voted for President Joe Biden, Reuters noted at the time.

While Ye conceded at the time, he seemed to immediately raise expectations for another run, posting a picture of himself in front of an election card that read “WELP Kanye 2024.”

In a radio interview earlier this month, Trump implied that Ye would not have been treated that way after anti-Semitic remarks had he not said “good things about Trump” first.

“Well, I was very honored because I didn’t know him that well, but I liked him, I obviously got on very well with him, and I felt very honored in a sense because he said all these great things about me has Tucker Carlson,” Trump told right-wing radio host Chris Stigall.

“He made some statements, crude statements about Jewish (sic), you heard them and you know them well and they say that’s why, so you’re asking if it would be the same if he hadn’t said all these.” good things about Trump, you just don’t know,” he added.
